ENGLISH FOR YOUR NEXT STEP

Why consider Trinity?

Choose an exam that matches both your learning goals and the requirements of the organisation receiving your result.

01

Four skills in one sitting

ISE Digital assesses speaking, listening, reading and writing in up to 105 minutes, including its levelling stage.

02

Results and useful feedback

Most ISE Digital results are available in 3–5 days. Diagnostic feedback helps you identify areas to develop.

03

A route across levels

ISE Digital reports scores linked to CEFR A1–C2; a below-A1 outcome is also possible.

04

Practical communication

Tasks reflect language used in study and work. GESE offers a speaking-and-listening route through a conversation with an examiner.

UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS

ISE Digital or GESE: which Trinity exam fits your goal?

The main difference is the skills assessed. ISE Digital covers reading, writing, listening and speaking. GESE focuses on speaking and listening.

Trinity English exams: a guide for students
What to compare ISE Digital GESE
Full name Integrated Skills in English — Digital Graded Examinations in Spoken English
Skills tested Reading, writing, listening and speaking Speaking and listening; no reading or writing modules
Exam format All four modules on a computer at an exam centre, in one sitting A one-to-one conversation with an examiner
Exam length Up to 105 minutes, including the levelling stage and instructions 5–25 minutes, depending on the grade
English levels A multi-level test covering CEFR A1–C2; a below-A1 result is also possible 12 grades covering pre-A1 to C2; choose the grade suited to your level and goal
Use for your studies Evidence of all four skills for a college or university course that accepts ISE Digital Evidence of spoken communication for a school or programme that accepts GESE, or to mark progress in your learning

CEFR is the framework used to describe language ability, from beginner to advanced. A GESE grade describes an English level, not a school year.

Applying to college or university? Check your course’s English requirements first. If it requires evidence of reading and writing as well as speaking and listening, GESE alone does not assess all those skills. Confirm the accepted exam version and minimum score or grade before booking.

Working on spoken English? GESE can help you demonstrate speaking and listening at a chosen grade. Ask your teacher which grade matches your current skills.

INTERNATIONAL STUDY POSSIBILITIES

Where is Trinity recognised?

Trinity’s recognition directory lists institutions and programmes across these 54 countries and regions. Open a destination to check the listed organisations.

A country appearing here does not mean every university, course, employer or visa route accepts every Trinity exam. Confirm the exact exam version, minimum score and any resit conditions directly with your receiving institution.

From Trinity’s official recognising-institutions directory, checked 9 September 2026. Listings and individual entry requirements can change.

BEFORE YOU REQUEST

Your questions, answered.

Can I request the first week of October?

Yes. Choose October with the year you want, then First week. Here that means 1–7 October. Admissions will contact you with a specific available appointment.

Does this form confirm my exam booking?

No. It records your preferred exam window and contact details. Your exam date, centre arrangements and appointment are confirmed separately after review.

Can I improve an ISE Digital score?

Trinity allows one module resit within 90 days. Check whether your receiving institution accepts a result that includes a resit. See Trinity’s current ISE Digital guidance.

Can I use any Trinity result for a visa?

Visa and university requirements are different. Confirm the required exam version and approved location with the relevant authority. This Lahore request does not book a UK SELT. See Trinity’s academic and SELT guidance.

Where will I take the exam?

The examination centre for this request is Kalma Chowk, Lahore. Admissions will provide the exact venue, reporting time and required documents when confirming your appointment.
